The system / Node Runner

The artist comes first. The audience decides what rises.

The artist sets the price and keeps about 81% of each subscription. 5th Symphony takes 10%.

01

Pain point

Independent and AI-native filmmakers publish on platforms that pay mainly through ads, bury credits, and rank work by opaque algorithms. Festivals are starting to refuse AI-made work, and direct-sale storefronts are closing. An artist's body of work, and the people they made it with, end up scattered across sites that do not connect them.

02

Solution

Node Runner joins three things that today live apart: a professional profile that lists an artist's works and credits, a streaming feed that viewers rank with their votes, and a studio where the artist uploads work and sets its price. A viewer follows the artist, not one film, and can watch free work, subscribe to the artist's channel, or rent a single work.

Six connected functions

From the pressure point
to an operational response.

Each function solves a distinct failure in the way consequential work is coordinated. Together, they form one operating environment.

01Artist profile · wireframe with fictional artist and works.

01 / Artist profile

A body of work, not a feed of posts.

Pain point

A filmmaker's credits live in festival listings, end-card text, and social bios. Nobody can see, in one place, what an artist made alone, what they made with others, and who vouches for it.

Solution

Each artist has a profile that lists their works and credits by role, the people they worked with most, their skills and tools, and what they are open to next. A credit is shown as confirmed only when the person credited confirms it.

An artist is found through their work and their collaborators, the way a casting director or producer actually looks.

02Discover · Hot, Trending, and Fresh feeds ranked by viewer votes.

02 / Viewer-ranked discovery

Let the audience decide what rises.

Pain point

On large platforms a recommendation system the creator cannot see decides who is shown. New artists without an existing audience rarely surface.

Solution

Every upload starts in the Fresh feed with a required trailer. Viewers vote after watching, and the strongest work moves to Trending and then Hot, with the score smoothed by how many viewers finish it. A viewer can show, hide, or isolate AI-made work.

A new artist can be discovered on the strength of the work alone.

Node Runner artist channel wireframe with series, features and subscription tiers
03Channel · follow, subscribe, or rent at prices the artist sets.

03 / Artist channel

Followers for free. Subscribers at the artist's price.

Pain point

Ad revenue alone rarely pays an independent filmmaker, and paid-membership sites lack a feed where new viewers find the artist.

Solution

Each artist has a channel of shorts, features, and series. Following is free. The artist decides which work is free, which is for subscribers, and what a subscription or rental costs.

Every new release reaches the artist's followers, and some of those followers pay.

04Rent · the $2.99 split shown before the viewer pays.

04 / Title page & rental

Show where the money goes.

Pain point

Viewers rarely know how much of what they pay reaches the people who made the film.

Solution

Each work has a title page with its full cast and crew, its AI disclosure, and its viewer score. At checkout the viewer sees the split: the artist's team, 5th Symphony's 10%, and the card fee.

Paying an artist becomes a deliberate act of support, not an opaque purchase.

Node Runner network wireframe with credit confirmation requests, open roles and a collaborator graph
05Network · credit requests, collaborators, and open roles.

05 / Network & credits

The people you made it with are your network.

Pain point

Professional networks for film are separate from the places the film is watched, so credits and connections fall out of date.

Solution

When a work is released, each credited person is asked to confirm their role. Confirmed credits link artists to one another, surface collaborators of collaborators, and carry open roles for the next production.

Credits stay current because they come from the work itself.

Node Runner creator studio dashboard wireframe with earnings, ranking ladder and content table
06Studio · earnings, ranking, and promotion in one place.

06 / Creator studio

Upload, credit, price, and see where the work stands.

Pain point

Creators juggle separate tools for publishing, payments, analytics, and promotion, and cannot see why a work is or is not being shown.

Solution

The studio shows followers, subscribers, earnings by source, and where each work stands on the way from Fresh to Hot. Upload asks for a trailer, an AI disclosure, the credits, and the price. Paid promotion is optional and always labelled.

The artist runs their channel like a small studio, with the numbers in front of them.

Product boundary

Built with operational intent.

The screens below are wireframes of the planned service at noderunner.5th-symphony.com. All people, works, and figures shown are fictional. Node Runner is in design; nothing shown is live.
