A 5th Symphony operational environment spanning creative and mission systems

The company / 5th Symphony

Systems thinkers.
Story makers.
Operators.

We work where creative ambition meets operational consequence.

An AI company for large systems

Operationalizing data—not simply analyzing it.

5th Symphony creates comprehensive products with operational intent. We build for environments where many people, systems, resources, obligations, and decisions must remain connected while conditions continue to change.

Our common foundation is a consequence engine: technology designed to show how a change propagates, identify what becomes exposed, and help people choose the response that best protects the objective.

We are applying that vision first to film and media production and to mission assurance for defense—two fields where fragmented evidence and delayed understanding can turn one local change into a system-wide failure.

01See the whole

Keep the system, its evidence, and its dependencies connected.

02Model consequence

Understand what a decision changes before the effect becomes the cost.

03Make it operational

Move from insight to governed, accountable action.

Principals

Different disciplines.
One instrument.

5th Symphony joins operational experience, enterprise architecture, film craft, and intellectual-property strategy around one product vision.

Portrait of Stephen O'Hearn01

Principal · Colorado Springs, Colorado

Stephen O'Hearn

Combat veteran, screenwriter, and mission-assurance practitioner connecting operational consequence with story and production.

Stephen A. O'Hearn is a U.S. Army combat veteran, former combat medic and military intelligence officer, screenwriter, filmmaker, and technology founder. His career has moved through environments where fragmented information carries real consequences—from battlefield medicine and operational intelligence to complex program work and film production.

At U.S. Space Command, O'Hearn worked in mission analytics and mission-assurance assessment: mapping interconnected systems, dependencies, evidence, risk, and the consequence of loss. That discipline shaped his conviction that a status cannot be trusted when the supporting evidence is missing, stale, or disconnected.

His work in film led him to recognize the same systems problem on a production. A script revision, location loss, weather event, or talent conflict does not stay isolated; it propagates through schedule, budget, crew, safety, vendors, and delivery. At 5th Symphony, he translates mission-level consequence thinking into operational intelligence for both creative and defense environments.

Portrait of Ken Greenwood02

Principal · Knoxville, Tennessee

Ken Greenwood

Systems architect, software founder, photographer, and filmmaker building the instruments consequential work runs on.

Ken Greenwood is a software founder, systems architect, product builder, photographer, and filmmaker. As president of Modus Novus, he has spent decades designing and delivering enterprise systems for complex technical organizations. As CEO and co-founder of Shredded Lens Studios, he applies the same systems discipline to AI-forward independent film and visual storytelling.

Greenwood is the author of Sam’s Teach Yourself ABAP in 21 Days and an SAP-certified ABAP specialist. His technical work extends from enterprise architecture into optimization, automated systems, and patented inventions. His creative practice includes directing, production design, AI-assisted screenwriting, and landscape photography recognized by the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History.

At 5th Symphony, Greenwood connects architecture with execution. He shapes product strategy, interface systems, and the technical foundations that turn broad operational ideas into coherent instruments people can actually use.
